Data Collection & Usage

Kom-Way collects geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude) and a unique device identifier provided by Garmin. Location coordinates are used to fetch real-time weather forecasts relevant to the reported location. The device identifier is used to distinguish individual devices for service usage statistics, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability purposes. The device identifier is not used to identify individuals.

Data Storage & Retention

Location coordinates and other request information may be temporarily stored in operational logs for service monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance purposes. Detailed API request logs are automatically deleted after 30 days.

The Garmin device identifier may be retained for longer periods for service usage statistics and maintenance purposes. It is not used to determine an individual's identity or to associate the identifier with a name, Garmin account, or other identifying information.

Third-Party Data Sharing

To provide accurate weather information, location coordinates are securely transmitted to third-party weather data providers. These providers receive only the information necessary to fulfill the weather request. The Garmin device identifier is not shared with these weather providers.

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes to the service or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
